Anti-Static Coveralls in Abu Dhabi | Shop Now

In the right environment, a single spark of static electricity is enough to ruin a circuit board, spoil a cleanroom batch, or ignite fuel vapour. Anti-static coveralls stop that spark at the source — woven with a conductive carbon-fibre grid that safely drains static charge off the wearer instead of letting it build and discharge. BN International General Trading supplies EN 1149-5 anti-static coveralls across Abu Dhabi and the UAE for electronics, cleanroom, fuel and petrochemical teams — full size range, bulk pricing, and cash on delivery.

What is an anti-static coverall — and who actually needs one?

An anti-static coverall (also called an ESD or static-dissipative coverall) is workwear built to stop static electricity building up on the body and discharging as a spark. It’s made by weaving a fine grid of conductive carbon-fibre threads through the fabric. That grid gives static charge a safe, continuous path to drain away — instead of collecting on ordinary fabric until it jumps to the nearest surface as a spark.

That spark is harmless in most workplaces. In four, it isn’t:

  • Electronics & semiconductor — a static discharge you can’t even feel can destroy a microchip or circuit board instantly.
  • Cleanrooms & pharmaceutical — static attracts dust and particles, contaminating sensitive batches and sterile spaces.
  • Fuel, oil & gas, petrochemical — around flammable vapour, one static spark is an ignition source. This is why UAE refineries and fuel depots mandate anti-static workwear.
  • Powder & flour handling — fine airborne dust can form an explosive cloud that a static spark sets off.

If your site involves any of these, an ordinary cotton coverall isn’t just insufficient — it can be the hazard itself.

EN 1149-5 — the standard that makes a coverall genuinely anti-static

Any coverall can be labelled anti-static. EN 1149-5 is what proves it. It’s the European standard for electrostatic-dissipative protective clothing, and it tests that the fabric actually drains charge (surface resistance / charge decay) rather than just carrying an anti-static claim.

Two points that matter on site:

The grid must be continuous and connected.

Anti-static protection only works if the conductive grid runs unbroken and the wearer is properly earthed — usually through anti-static footwear on a dissipative floor. A coverall alone isn’t a complete ESD system; it’s one part of a grounded setup.

It survives washing — within limits.

Because the protection is woven in (not a surface spray), a genuine EN 1149-5 coverall keeps working through repeated washes, as long as you follow the care label. Wash it wrong, or past its rated wash count, and the dissipative performance drops.

When you request a quote, we confirm the exact EN 1149-5 classification for the coverall and fabric weight you need.

Choosing the right anti-static coverall

Four things decide which one fits your site:

Environment First

Cleanroom and electronics work needs a lint-free, often white, ESD coverall. Fuel and petrochemical work needs a more rugged fabric — and usually flame resistance too (see below). Match the coverall to the actual hazard, not just the “anti-static” label.

Fabric weight

Lighter poly-cotton (65–150 GSM) suits controlled indoor and cleanroom work. Heavier weights (190–210 GSM) suit rougher industrial environments.

Do you also need flame protection?

Around flammable vapour, many UAE sites require a coverall that is both anti-static and flame-resistant. That’s a dual-hazard garment — we stock it, but its lead purpose is flame protection, so it’s detailed on our [Flame Resistant Coveralls] page. If static control is your only concern, a standard EN 1149-5 coverall is the right, more economical choice.

Fit and Earthing

Elasticated cuffs and ankles keep the coverall closed and the conductive grid in contact. Pair with anti-static footwear for a complete, earthed system.

Anti-static coveralls for Abu Dhabi & UAE industry

We supply anti-static and ESD coveralls to industrial sites across Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE — electronics and cleanroom facilities, fuel depots, and petrochemical operations in zones including Mussafah, ICAD, KEZAD and Ruwais, plus sites across Dubai, Sharjah and the other Emirates. Under UAE workplace safety rules, employers must supply PPE matched to the real hazard — and where static ignition or ESD damage is a risk, that means certified anti-static workwear, not ordinary coveralls. We hold stock in Abu Dhabi and source additional specs to order, so a crew is never left waiting.

Anti-static coverall pricing & bulk supply

Anti-static coverall price depends on fabric weight, grade (standard ESD vs cleanroom vs dual-hazard FR) and order quantity:

Grade
Starting from (AED/piece)
Typical use
Light ESD / cleanroom from ~AED 45 Electronics, cleanroom, indoor controlled work
Standard industrial anti-static from ~AED 55 General ESD and static-risk sites
Dual-hazard (anti-static + FR) from ~AED 110 Fuel, oil & gas, petrochemical (see FR page)
Order quantity

Custom colours and logo branding are available on bulk orders. We source specialist specs to order, so if your requirement isn't in the grid, we supply it rather than turn you away.

Based in Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi, we hold anti-static stock locally and dispatch in-stock orders quickly, with delivery across every Emirate. Bulk and project orders are scheduled around your site. We accept cash on delivery — pay when your order arrives — plus bank transfer and corporate invoicing for account and project customers.

Frequently asked questions

A grid of conductive carbon-fibre threads woven through the fabric drains static charge safely off the wearer, preventing the build-up that would otherwise discharge as a spark.

No. Anti-static coveralls control static; flame-resistant coveralls resist ignition and heat. Some garments do both (dual-hazard) — needed around flammable vapour — but a standard anti-static coverall is not flame-resistant on its own.

No, if it’s genuine EN 1149-5 — the conductive grid is woven in, not sprayed on, so it survives repeated washing when you follow the care label and stay within the rated wash count.

Yes, for a complete system. The coverall drains charge off the body, but the wearer must be earthed — usually through anti-static footwear on a dissipative floor.

Yes. We stock a core range and source additional specs, colours and sizes to order — you won’t be left without the coverall you need.
